Welcome to Musings of a Bookish Historian!
I’m so happy you’re here! Musings of a Bookish Historian is something of a passion project for me to coincide with my blog The Bookish Historian. I love history, books, reading, writing, and more so I created this page to share that love with others! Here you’ll find book reviews, historical facts, random musings, and potentially cute pictures of my cats.
Yes, you read that correctly, I said cats!
So, who am I?
I’m Amy, just a bibliophile, historian, wanderluster, animal lover, gamer, and nerd who lives in Pennsylvania, USA. Anyone who knows me well will probably tell you these things about me:
I love history, particularly English history.
To that point, Tudor England is a particular favorite. But I also enjoy learning about the Black Death, the Yukon gold rush, and more generally, ancient, medieval, and early modern western European history.
I love England.
I was born and raised in Wisconsin, the land of cheese, beer, Culver’s, Kwik Trip, and the Packers.
My husband is the most patient person for dealing with my incessant spouting of historical facts.
I have two rescue cats. Or, rather, I serve as their handmaiden.
Professionally, I work in IT at a university as well as freelance on the side.
Thank you again for stopping by, and I hope you learn a little something or find a new book to read!
